Christoffer Knutsen Paulson was born May 9, 1858 at Hylden, Ulvik, Hordaland, Norway to Knut Traaum Paulson and Herborg Gjertsdatter, the fifth of their eight children.

Christ left Norway in April 1868 with his parents and siblings to emigrate to Iowa. Emigration record found in the Norwegian Digital Archives on-line for Ulvik, Hordaland, Norway, 1864-1878, pg 249, entries #10-17. Traveling together were: Knud, Herborg, Lars, Hans, Kristoffer, Knud, Herborg and Ole.

Found in the 1870 census living at Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa: Canute Pawlson (should be Paulson) 50, Herbert Pawlson 50, Paul Pawlson 22, Lewis Pawlson 20, Gert Pawlson 18, Hans Pawlson 16, Christopher Pawlson 14, Canute Pawlson 10, Ole Pawlson 4, Herber Pawlson 6.

Found in the 1880 census at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: working as a servant in the Rollef Isaksen home. Christoph Paulson age 21.

Christoffer married Anna Sanborn (b 1858, d 1902) in 1882 at Iowa.

The couple had 4 children:
Hilda Emelia Paulson (1883 - 1933),
Karl Adolf (b March 30, 1885);
Mina Amelia (b April 17, 1889, d 1963) and
George Paulson (b 1892 - 1946).

Christoffer's second marriage was to Anna Fadnes (b 1878 Iowa, d 1960) on May 31, 1893 at either Northwood or Forest City, Worth Co, Iowa. They had no children.

Christoffer K Paulson died on November 12, 1944 at Lake Mills, Winnebago, Iowa and was buried at the Silver Lake Lutheran Cemetery, Silver Lake, Worth, Iowa.
