Rena Marie Rustad, 84, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at First Lutheran Church, in Northwood with the Rev. Judy Converse officiating.

Burial was in the South Shell Rock Cemetery, Northwood.

Rena graduated from Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa in 1949.

Rena joined the staff of a new congregation in Arleta, CA., with responsibilities in music, youth and education. A decade later, she left Calvary Lutheran Church and moved to St. Paul, MN., where she again worked for the ALC. In Minnesota she managed the synod's budget and its conventions. She move to Chicago in 1988 where she was the administrative assistant to the Bishop of the ELCA for 8 years. Rena enjoyed travelling, attending operas and theatre. Survivors include sisters, Margaret Rustad Berge and Helen Rustad Senne.
