Walter Clarence Johnson was born July 9, 1911 Palermo, Sidonia, Mountrail, North Dakota to Ole W Johnson and Maria Andersen, the third of their ten children. He never married, nor had children. Walter served in the Army in WWII and worked as a farmer.

1915: Ole Johnson 36, Mary 26, Jester H 8, Hazel 5, Walter 3, Earl 1.1920: Ole Johnson 41, Maria Johnson 30, Helmer Johnson 12, Hazel Johnson 10, Walter Johnson 8, Earl Johnson 5, Adolph Johnson 2 yrs 8 mos, Florence Johnson 2 months.
1930: Ole Johnson 51, Mary Johnson 41, Helmer J Johnson 22, Hazel C Johnson 20, Walter C Johnson 18, Adolph B Johnson 12, Florence M Johnson 10, Olga M E Johnson 7, Nora T Johnson 5, Evelyn I Johnson 3.
1940: Ole Johnson 61, Marie Johnson 51, Walter Johnson 27, Olga Johnson 17, Nora Johnson 15, Evelyn Johnson 13, Elvira Johnson 8.
In late, 1940, Walter moved to near Kensett, Iowa to farm; to Fairfax, Iowa in 1980 and then back to Palermo, North Dakota in 1982 living with his cousin Earl Anderson in Palermo.
Walter C Johnson died August 19, 1985 at Kenmare, Ward, North Dakota and was brought back for burial at Grant Center Cemetery, Fertile, Worth, Iowa.

Walter C. Johnson, 74, died Saturday, August 17, 1985 at Kenmare, North Dakota. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Conner Colonial Chapel, Northwood, Iowa, with the Rev. Allen Call officiating. Pall bearers are: Bruce & Dennis Mogk, David Olson, Joel Johnson, Jack Sanderson, and Craig Ouverson. He attended rural schools in the Palermo area.Find A Grave Memorial #18635935
