Roy C. Buechele, 82, lifelong resident of Grafton, died Saturday, January 4, 1986, at Mesa, AZ.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton with the Rev. James Fladland officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.

He was born April 25, 1903, at Grafton to Edward and Anna (Wahl) Buechele. He attended schools in Grafton and in 1919, he started working for the Farmers Co-op Grain and Lumber Co., retiring in 1971 after 52 years with the elevator. Since 1976, the couple had been spending winters in Arizona.

He was a member and past president of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton; was a member of the Elks Lodge in Mason City; a member of the Board of Directors of FELCO; and for 48 years served on the Grafton town council.

Survivors include his wife, Cordula; one daughter, Mary Ann (Hugh) Whitesell, Sedona, AZ; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; three step-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren.
