MANLY, IOWA - Rosanna "Rose" Ethel (Snell) McNally, 95, Manly, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.
A memorial service for Rosanna will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 East Spring Street, Manly, with the Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Highway 18 West, Mason City. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the chapel.
Rosanna "Rose" Ethel (Snell) McNally was born on March 21, 1916, in Hampton, the daughter of John and Anna (Atterson) Pietereson. Rose was baptized at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rose received her education in the Mason City Community School, graduating from Mason City High School in 1934.
She was united in marriage to Sidney Snell in 1934, in Mason City. He preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Earl McNally on Sept. 5, 1951. He preceded her in death.
Rose last worked for Winnebago Industries in Forest City for ten years until her retirement.
Rose enjoyed making Raggedy Ann dolls, traveling, going to flea markets, and collecting Indian dolls.Rose was a lifetime member of St. James Lutheran Church in Hampton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Carolyn Smith-Lane of Mason City, Kay Yezek of Osage, Pat (Cindy) McNally of New Boston, Ill., Mary (Bob) Kamish of Manly, and Mike (Lori) McNally of Kensett; 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great granddaughter; her daughter-in-law, Joan Snell of Rapid River, Mich.; as well as several nieces, nephews; as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; her son, Richard Snell; her brother, Francis Pietersen; three son-in-laws; and one grandson.
