Marcella was born April 18, 1923, on a farm northeast of Grafton, the daughter of Fred and Lydia (Bruesewitz) Kuntz. She attended country school, parochial school and Grafton Community School. Her baptism and confirmation were at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. In 1935, her parents purchased another farm north of Grafton, where they continued to farm until retirement. The family chose Mason City as their new home and Marcella became their caregiver when assistance was needed. She was employed at several businesses and worked many years at a downtown motel. Walking was something that she enjoyed and was known to easily walk across town.

She had a sharp eye for sales, liked to eat out and enjoyed good conversation. Her family often visited when they shopped in Mason City and she was always ready with a cup of coffee and a snack. She was blessed with dear friends. Mason City has been "home" to Marcella for nearly fifty years, and she has been a resident at Good Shepherd Health Center for the past few years.

Marcella is survived by one sister: Lois Westendorf of Des Moines; two sisters-in-law: Harriet Kuntz of Mason City, and Arliene Kuntz of St. Ansgar. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Earl, Vernon, Kermit and Gene Kuntz; four sisters Ruth Krueger, Ella Priem, Pearl Rosenberg and Ethel Walk; and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Arrangements: Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Mason City, Iowa 50401, 641-423-0924.
