Dennis White, age 63, of Iowa Falls, died on Monday, January 5, 2009 at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls with burial in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 P.M. Friday at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with family receiving friends from 6-8 P.M.

Dennis D. White was born on May 24, 1945 in Minneapolis, MN. At the age of two months he was adopted by John (Jack) and Pearl White of Grafton, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. He attended the Grafton Comm. Schools until 10th grade then he transferred to St. Ansgar after they consolidated. He graduated from there in May of 1963. Dennis went on to the U. S. Trade School in Kansas City, MO and from there to work for Bill Ireland Chevrolet as an auto mechanic.

In March of 1966 Dennis was employed by Hardin County R.E.C. as a lineman. He worked with the line crew for many years before accepting the position as Member Service Director. The company had changed names before he retired from Midland Power Cooperative in May of 2006. Dennis has two sons from a previous marriage, David John in Mason City and Gary Joseph of Buffalo, WY.

Dennis married Jenenne Charleston on September 20, 1975 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls. He had many hobbies and interests that kept him busy during his life. They included being a private pilot, a photographer, and then on to working with metal and wood. He made and played wood string instruments and still had time to do some target shooting. His dry sense of humor and story telling were enjoyed by all and will be carried on by his sons. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jenenne; two sons, David and family of Mason City and Gary (Melissa) and family of Buffalo, WY; his mother, Pearl of Iowa Falls; a sister, Dixie Jellum of Mason City; seven grandchildren, David's children, Tyler, Carrie and Jake and Gary's children, Lakyn, Brooklyn, Stacey, and Kristen; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, "Jack" and an infant son.
