This is found on any of the versions of the social security death index. It means 4 things that might be useful to you. First, you have a death date and can search for a newspaper obituary notice. Second, as there was someone who filed the claim, there is a next-of-kin. Third, you may apply for a copy of his application for a social security card. Since you have a death date you may be able to get a death certificate copy. You best call the county clerk-recorder or whatever the office is in Woodbury Co. and explain the situation. They may not release it. Good luck
