CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa — Luverne Emmett Knaack, 77, of Correctionville, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 1996, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville with the Rev. De Ann Klapp officiating. Burial will be in the Correctionville Cemetery with military graveside services by Mumford Moon Post 79, American Legion and VFW Sioux Valley Post 1750 of Correctionville. Visitation will be 11 A.M. to 8 p.m. today and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Mr. Knaack was born Aug. 13, 1918, in Correctionville, the son of William and Dorethea Margaret (Bauer) Knaack. He graduated from Correctionville High School in 1936. He married Ethel Klingensmith Feb. 21, 1946, at Meadow Star Church, rural Pierson. The couple farmed for 11 years and then moved to Wichita, Kan., where he worked for Boeing Aircaft Co., Cessna Aircraft Co. and the Wichita Board of Education. They returned to Correctionville after retiring.

Mr. Knaack was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Methodist Men, American Legion and VFW of Correctionville and was an active volunteer at the Senior Center.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Robert and Denise of rural Pierson and Raymond and Ann of Correctionville; five grandchildren, Vernon, Lance, Andrew, Kyle and Sarah; three sisters, Adelia and her husband, Elmer Timmerman of Galva, Caroline Herbold of Sioux City and Dorothy and her husband, Paul
Anderson of Correctionville; a sister-in-law, Edna Knaack of Correctionville and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lester; a daughter, Lila; his parents; three brothers, Volrath, William Jr. and Henry and a daughter-in-law, Delcie
