Rosina Mae "Rose" Yost Murdock, 77, of Sioux City died Saturday, Jan. 6, 1996, at her home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, Iowa, with the Rev. DeAnn Klapp. officiating. Burial will be in the Correctionville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Mrs. Murdock was born June 15,1918, rural Iowa, the daughter of John Perry and Anna Josephine (Haller) Yost. She attended school in Mondamin. She married Otis Ruffcorn in November 1933. They made their home in Mondamin where she operated Rose's Cafe for many years. She married Russell Murdock Oct. 4, 1964. They retired to Denver, Colo., and later Shawnee, Colo. Mr. Murdock died in December 1990 and she moved to Sioux City in March 1991.

Mrs. Murdock was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, ceramics, cooking and playing Scrabble.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie and her husband, Robert Wiltse of Correctionville; a son, Duane and his wife, Karyl Ruffcorn of Flippin, Ark.; a stepson, Bob and his wife, Diane Murdock of Rifle, Colo.; five grandchildren, Elaine Utesch, Debra Gutierrez, Brian Ruffcorn, Jennifer Forster and Devon Murdock; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Josephine Marvin and Ruth Lutey and a grandson, Robert Wiltse Jr.
