DANBURY, Iowa - Laura Ann Welte, 76, of Danbury, died Friday at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church at Danbury. The Rev.
Robert Thiele will officiate and burial will be in Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Rosaries will be recited by the Rosary Society at 3:30 p.m. and by the parish at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Welte, the former Laura Ann Collins, was born Dec. 6, 1908, in Anthon. She attended St. Patrick's Academy at Danbury, graduated from Morningside College, and taught school at Living Springs, near Danbury. She married Gerald Welte on Feb. 26, 1927,in Sioux City. The couple made their home in Danbury. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald of Danbury; five sons, Dennis "Bing" and Michael, both of Sioux City, Patrick of Fresno, Calif., and Edward and Timothy, both of Danbury; five daughters; Mrs. Lewis (Evelyn) Ahlwardt of Pittsburg, Calif., Mrs. Joe (Norma Jean) Burrus and Mrs. Russel (Joyce) Jackson, both of Sioux City, Mrs. Jim (Mary Jo) Person of Fargo, N.D., and Mrs. Richard (Kay) Fritz of Hinton; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Gertrude) Schimmer of Danbury and Mrs. Helen Hayes of Benicia, Calif.; 26 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
