Mrs. Katherine Uhl Welte, 72, died Thursday at her home near Danbury arter a long illness.

Mrs. Welte was born October 23, 1887, in Oto township, Woodbury County, and was a lifelong resident of that township, with the exception of six years' residence in Liston township. She was married to Frank Welte February 8, 1910, at Danbury. Mrs. Welte was a member of St. Mary's Catholic chuch and its Altar society.

Survivors include the widower, four daughters, Mrs. Leone Morgan of Mapleton, Ia., Mrs. Orville Dandurand of Sioux City, Mrs, A. R. Stodden of Elma, Wash., and Mrs. Walter Scott of Salix; four sons, Francis of Smithland, Clair and Louis of Danbury and, James of Carroll, Ia. three brothers, John, Louis and Xavier Uhl, all of Danbury, and 22 grandchildren.

Funeral service's will be at 9:30 a. m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic church, Danbury. Rev. R. V. Sweeney will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight at the Walters funeral home at Mapleton.
