Mother of Mrs. Collins Buried

Funeral Services Are Held Friday Morning in St. Patrick's Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph A. Welte, 67 year-old Danbury resident and mother of Mrs. William Collins of Mapleton, who died January 27 in St. Joseph's hospital in Sioux City following an extended illness, were held Friday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Patrick's Catholic church at Danbury.

Burial was in the Danbury St. Patrick cemetery under the direction of Mrs. Welte's son-in-law, C. B. Hudgel of Ida Grove assisted by his brother, Edwin Hudgel of Anthon.

Pallbearers were Patrick Houlihan Bert Petit, James Harrigan, Henry Fitzpatrick, George Elskamp and A. J. Riedmiller.

Cornelia M. Callahan was born in Oto township, Woodbury County, May 16, 1873. She spent her entire life in the Danbury community. She attended rural schools and later received her higher education in the Danbury St. Patririck academy.

She taught school for several years until she was married to Mr. Welte September 4, 1894.

She is survived by her husband and seven children, Dan J. Welte, Gerald H. Welte, William J. Welte and Charles F. Welte all of Danbury, Mrs. John Petit of Anthon, Mrs. Collins of Mapleton and Mrs. Hudgel of Ida Grove.

She also has 25 grandchildren and 4 sisters, Mrs. James Donery of Kirkhoven, Minn., Miss Lucy Callahan of Danbury, Miss Lorene Callahan of Chicago and Mrs. Gladys Rickert of Sioux City.
