DANBURY, Iowa - Betty Webb, 78, of Danbury died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury.

Burial will be in Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday, with a St. Mary's Society rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Home of Danbury and Mapleton, Iowa.

Hold services for longtime MV school board secretary

Betty Webb, age 78 of Danbury, Iowa, died Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Sioux City, Iowa.

Services were held 11:00 a. m. Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury with Rev. Terry Roder, Celebraat and Rev. Ralph Lammers, Concelebrant officiating inurnment was in the Danbury Catholic Cemetery on Wednesday, January 4 at 9:00 a. m. A rosary by St. Mary's Rosary Society was held at 3:00 p. m. Monday with a Vigil Wake Service at 7:00 p. m. at the church.

Elizabeth "Betty" Brigetta Webb the daughter of Ignatius and Gertrude (Walz) Lammers, was born May 29, 1927 at Fordyce, Nebraska, where she grew up and graduated from high school. On September 7, 1955, Betty was united in marriage to John Webb at Fordyce. The couple then made their home at Bloomfield, Nebraska and later at Ulysses, Nebraska. The family moved to Danbury in 1966 John died April 10, 1972. That same year Betty began working for the Maple Valley School as a secretary, first in Danbury and Jater in Mapleton as the Maple Valley School Board Secretary. She retired in 1990.

She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church and St Mary's Rosary Society in Danbury. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Thursday Card Club.

Survivors include one son and his wife John and Starla Webb of Schleswig, Iowa, three daughters, Joan Ford of
