28 April 1972Miss Dorothy Mary Keitges 72, retired Danbury businesswoman, died Thursday at a Battle Creek, Iowa, hospital after a long illness.
Miss Keitges was born Feb. 6, 1900, at Danbury, She was graduated from St. Mary's High School at Danbury in 1917. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Maple Valley Lumber Co. at Danbury for several years, and then went to Omaha where she was secretary for the American Reserve Insurance Co., and later bookkeeper- secretary for the Klopp Printing Co. for many years. She returned to Danbury in 1947. She was a receptionist for two Danbury physicians, and, before retiring in 1962, had charge of the hot lunch program at St. Mary's School and was secretary for St. Mary's Parish.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Danbury and the church Rosary Society.
Survivors are five brothers, Waldo of Lincoln, Wayne of Danbury, Gilbert of Las Vegas, Nev., Cyril of Mercedes, Calif., and R. C. of Holstein, Iowa.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury. Msgr. Richard Sweeney and the Rev. Edward Huffmann will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of the Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home by the Rosary Society, and at 8 p.m. by the parish.
