6 October 1941Mrs. Mary Kee, 66, of near Ute, died late Saturday in a hospital here following an operation. She had been a patient at the hospital since September 24. The widower, David Kee survives.
The body was taken to Henning's funeral home at Ute.

9 October 1941Mrs. Davis Kee Laid to Rest Wednesday
Mrs. Davis Kee a resident of Ute for many years, died just before midnight Saturday, October 4, 1941 at St. Joseph hospital in Sioux City. She had undergone an operation there and pneumonia followed, causing her death. She had reached the age of 66 years, two months and four days.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church in Ute Wednesday morning, October 8, at 9:30 o’clock. Interment was in the family lot at St. Patrick's cemetery at Danbury.
Mary Burke was born July 31, 1875, at Ballyglass, County Mayo, Ireland. Whan a young girl She came to America, direct to Charlotte, Clinton County, Iowa, where she lived for a number of years. She later moved to Midway, Woodbury County, Iowa, where she lived with her mother and brothers for a few years. She then moved to a farm in Center township, Monona County, living there until March 1, 1914, when the Burke family moved to Ute where she had lived until her death.
She was united in marriage to Davis Kee of Ute on June 10, 1936, by whom she is survived. Other survivors are two brothers, Martin Burke of Nampa, Idaho, and Mika Burke of Castana, Iowa, also several nephews and nieces.
