25 October 1991DANBURY, Iowa -- Margaret S. Kane, 88, of Danbury died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1991, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial will be in the Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a rosary recited by the Rosary Society at 3 p.m., and a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton. Visitation will also be from 9 a.m. Saturday until service time at the church.
Miss Kane was born April 20, 1903, on the family farm north of Danbury, the daughter of John and Eloise (Harrigan) Kane. She graduated from St. Patrick's Academy in Danbury and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught in rural schools in the Danbury community and retired from the Waterloo Public School System. She returned to the family farm after her retirement. In 1990 she entered Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.
Mrs. Kane was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.
Survivors include a sister, Eloise Kane of Danbury; and two brothers, Joseph of Danbury and Thomas of Whittier, Calif.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary, Anna and Alice; and a brother, John.
