Herman Krull, 73, Danbury, died Saturday at a Battle Creek, Iowa, hospital after a nine-day illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Walter Funeral Home, Mapleton, Iowa. The Rev. E. E. Greene of St. Matthew Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Danbury Cemetery.

Mr. Krull was born Oct. 24, 1892, in Germany. He went to the Holstein, Iowa, community in July 1922. He worked as a blacksmith before retiring to Danbury in 1965. He married Minna Tode July 11, 1919, in Germany.

He was a veteran of the German army and a member of the Teutonia Club in Sioux City.

Survivors include the widow; a brother, Wilhelm of Holstein; and four sisters and a brother, all in Germany.
