10 December 1962George Ellsworth Kennedy, 70, a longtime resident of Oto, died Saturday night at his residence there after suffering a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 1 p. m. Wednesday at the Walter funeral home in Mapleton. Rev. John Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in the Danbury cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by Henry McKenna post 651, American Legion of Oto.
Mr. Kennedy was born January 25, 1892 at Dunlap, Ia. At the age of 8, be moved to Humboldt, Ia., with his parents. The family resided there for five years before settling in Missouri.
Following his discharge from the army in world war I, Mr. Kennedy went to the Oto, Danbury and Mapleton communities. He lived in Oto since 1940 and made his home with a brother Harmon.
Mr. Kennedy was a retired carpenter.
Survivors in addition to the brother include four sisters, Mrs. Alice Hamilton and Mrs. Henry Crippen, both of Sioux City, Mrs. Earl Tryon of Oto and Miss Gladys Kennedy of Denver.
