Services for Frank M. Kennedy, 43, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, former Sioux City resident, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Meyer Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Burial will be in the Danbury, Iowa, cemetery. Military graveside rites will be at 1 p.m. today by the American Legion at Danbury.

Mr. Kennedy underwent open heart surgery Feb. 5 and returned home Saturday from the hospital. He was stricken at his home Saturday and was dead on arrival at a Council Bluffs hospital.

He was born Dec. 26, 1931, at Mapleton, Iowa, and lived in Sioux City from 1931 until moving to Council Bluffs in 1962. A carpenter, he was employed by an Omaha siding firm at the time of his death. He was married to the former Patricia Anne Crippen of Sioux City. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Survivors include the widow; four sons, John E., serving with the U.S. Army at Fort Carson, Colo., and Lowell C., Frank M. and Scott all at home; a daughter, Sheila at home; his mother, Mrs. Thelma Hobbs of Omaha; three brothers, Harmon E., serving with the U.S. Army in Germany; L. Noel of Omaha, and David of Bellevue, Neb., and a sister, Mrs. Henry Schafer of Omaha.
