Mary Ellen Kelsheimer, daughter of Aaron and Samantha Walker, was born April 6, 1871 in Wayne County, Iowa and died March 15, 1959, in a Sioux City hospital at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 9 days.

She moved with her family to Oklahoma as a young girl. She was married to Thomas Lee Kelsheimer in Chanler Oklahoma, May 6, 1891. Seven children were born to this union. In 1893 they returned to Iowa where she and her husband farmed in the Anthon and Danbury communities. She moved to Mapleton in 1944 where she spent the remainder of her life.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Glen Martin of Castana; four sons; Glen of Sergeant Bluff, William of Anthon, Lee of Oto and Wallace of Castana: one brother, Chris Walker, Monticello, Ark. and seventeen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband two sons, three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were held Tuesday March 17, 1959 at the Walter Funeral Home with Rev. Byron Ayers officiating.

Pallbearers were: Tom Saxen, Pete Munz, James Martin, Norman Kelsheimer, Tom Kelsheimer and James Kelsheimer.

Burial was at the Danbury cemetery under the direction of the Walter Funeral Home.
