Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon for Mrs. Mary M. Jerman, 93, who died Saturday at the home of her son, Walter Jerman, at Ute. Father Friedman of Ute served as celebrant for the solemn requiem high mass. Assisting him was Father Knipe of Charter Oak, deacon of the mass and Father Conlon of Anthon, sub-deacon.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery under direction of the Hudgel Funeral Home at Anthon.

Mary Rourke was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 15, 1854, and was married to J. O. Jerman on January 31, 1878, at Maquoketa, Iowa. Two weeks after their marriage they left by covered wagon for Woodbury County where they settled in Lucky Valley.

Mrs. Jerman and her husband, who preceded her in death in 1934, were farmers near here until 1905 when they retired and moved to Anthon. She had been living in Ute the last seven years.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Lucy Beebe of Kansas City, Missouri, and two sons, Oliver of Anthon and Walter of Ute.

Three daughters preceded her in death.
