Mrs. John B. Holton passed away in Correctionville after a week's illness. Her death occurred about 6 weeks after the passing of her brother, Mike Moran, and just two days after the passing of her sister-in-law, Mrs. J.B. Moran.

Tillie M. Moran was born at Rudd, Iowa, November 10, 1882, and passed away at her home January 28, 1937, a week after being stricken with apoplexy. When a small child she moved to Correctionville with her parents, brothers and sisters, where she lived with the exception of 18 years spent in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She spent most of her life as a nurse. In 1920 she was called from Minneapolis to care for her father who had suffered a paralytic stroke. She cared for him four years until his death in 1924. On November 10, 1930, she married John B. Holten of this place.

She leaves to mourn her husband, one sister, Mrs. Loretta Barrett of Grand Island, Nebraska, and one brother, J.B. Moran of Correctionville, other relatives and a host of friends.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Sunday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon with Father D.K. Hurley conducting services. Burial was made in the Anthon cemetery under direction of Wilson-Hull Service of Correctionville and R. Hudgel Service of Anthon.
