Everett Heuer, Former Anthon Publisher, Dies

Anthon, Ia. - Special: Everett H. Heuer, 46, Anthon town clerk and former publisher of the Anthon Herald, died at his home here Friday after suffering a stroke.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a. m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic church. Rev. A. Conlon will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount St. Joseph cemetery.

Mr. Heuer was prominent in business and social activities here until illness forced his retirement several years ago. Since 1945 he had been town clerk.

He was born February 5, 1904, in Carver County, Minn. He was graduated from Carver high school and the University of Minnesota school of journalism.

He had been employed by St. Cloud, Winona and Redwing, Minn., and Denver newspapers. From 1928 to 1932 he owned half interest in the Wabasha, Minn., Herald-Standard. In 1932 he bought the Anthon Herald.

Mr. Heuer was past president of the former Lions club here and took part in Iowa Press association activities.

He married Florence Cyrson June 14, 1927, at Winona. He was a member of St. Joseph church and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors are the widow, of Anthon; the father, C. H. Heuer, and two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Schmidt and Mrs. Mandus Nyberg, all of Hinckley. Minn.
