Marvin "Bud" Green, 71, of Anthon, retired farmer, died Thursday, February 16, 1989, at his residence following a long illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 20, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon with Rev. Gerald Zensen officiating. Burial was in Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Anthon under direction of Walter Funeral Home.

Mr. Green, the son of Barney and Ethel (Benton) Green, was born August 16, 1917, east of Oto and was a lifelong resident of the Anthon-Oto area. He married Margaret Huffman September 30, 1939, at Storm Lake. In 1943 they began farming in the Anthon-Oto area. In 1973 the couple moved into Anthon.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Elaine Sands of Sioux City, Mrs. Ronald (Diane) Wasmund of Spencer and Mrs. Thomas (Linda) Leesley III of Anthon, three sisters, Rosaline Blume of Schleswig, Catherine Chedester of Sioux City and Delores Heath of Anthon, five brothers, William of Lawton, Dale of Minot, North Dakota, Melvin "Bob" of Oto, Glen of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Guiles of Sergeant Bluff, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, a brother, a sister and a grandchild.
