John S. "Jack" Foley

CHEROKEE, Iowa -- John S. "Jack" Foley, 81, died Friday at his home here of an apparent heart attack.

Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Alfred McCoy officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery at Anthon. The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today in the Greenwood Funeral Home.

Mr. Foley was born July 2, 1896 in Correctionville. On July 27, 1920, he married Esther Mann in Anthon. Until his retirement in 1965, he was a supervisor for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a resident of the Cherokee area the last 37 years.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, William of Quimby, and Philip of Springfield, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Harm (Jean) Naber of Fort Dodge; a brother, Martin of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Walter (Agnes) Suidam of Glenhaven, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
