Lucille Flemming Buried Monday

Tuberculosis Claims Young Life Before the Eighteenth Birthday Is Passed

Miss Lucille Marie Flemming, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Flemming living northwest of Correctionville about a mile passed away last Friday, death coming as the close of several months suffering from the dreaded disease, tuberculosis.

Miss Lucille was born in this vicinity August 5, 1907, and at the death was 17 years, 11 months and 12 days of age. All of her days had been spent in this vicinity though for one year she attended the parochial school in Anthon. Her other school days was spent in Correctionville though she was forced on account of her health, to give up active school work in the tenth grade. Becoming worse gradually, she was taken to Oakdale where everything was done for her recovery, but all efforts seemed in vain and she was brought back to Correctionville and taken to the home of Miss Tillie Moran east of Correctionville and it was here that she passe3d to the great beyond.

Hers was a very unselfish life being devoted to her parents and relatives whose loss seems irreparable.

She chose her own pall bearers from among her schoolmates, Edward O'Connell, Vincent Coyle, Glenn Schreiner, LaVerne Joy, Lauren McClaren and Leo Swanger.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Anthon on Monday morning at ten o'clock, Rev. Father Hurley officiating. The Requim High Mass was played by her cousin, Miss Kate McNamara. Interment was made in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

McFadden all of Sioux City, Jas. McNiff of Ortonville Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Will Skahill and Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Navin of Danbury.
