ANTHON, Iowa - Leo Joseph Flemming, 69, of Anthon, died Oct. 22 in a Correctionville nursing home of a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 24 in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Anthon. The Rev. J. G. Skahill will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Oct. 23 in the Walter Funeral Home at Anthon.

Mr. Flemming was born March 7, 1906, in Correctionville. He lived in the Correctionville-Anthon community most of his life. He married Marie Callaghan June 10, 1935, at Anthon. She died in 1954.

He married Dorothy White June 18, 1956 at Sioux City. In 1957, they moved to Rock Valley, where they operated a cafe three years. He also was employed several years by Tower Construction of Sioux City. He returned to Anthon five years ago. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Emmet (Joni) Thorman of Phoenix, Ariz. and a son, Richard of Los Angeles; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Marvin (Evelyn) Umbaugh of Anthon, Miss Helen White of Los Angeles and Mrs. Richard (Lorane) McCure of Sioux City; a stepson, Harold of Anthon; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Hart of Correctionville and Mrs. Vivian Sevening of Cushing; and three brothers, Clarence, Gerald and Wilford, all of Correctionville.
