Miss Violet Farmer, 48, Sioux City, died unexpectedly Friday at her home. Police said the woman was dead when they arrived at the residence with the fire department inhalator squad. Miss Farmer had been ill since returning from Iowa City, where she had underwent a goiter operation several weeks ago.

Miss Farmer was born November 15, 1919, at Anthon. She moved to Sioux City after graduating from high school and had been employed as a nurse's aide at Sioux City hospitals.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Survivors besides her mother include two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Cothrin of Sacramento, California, and Mrs. Arlene Stenberg of Fertile, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. March 19 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City with Rev. Donulus Wunderlich officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Anthon under direction of the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were cousins: Vincent Schoberg, Wilfred and Gerald Flemming, Leo and John Cole.

Lunch was served after the services at the Joe Carr home in Anthon.

Relatives attending from Correctionville and Cushing were Mrs. P.S. Hart, Mrs. Gerald Flemming and Mrs. Bud Sevening.
