7 June 1973Mrs. John Farmer, 87, was born December 2, 1885, at Cascade, Iowa, and passed away Thursday, May 17, 1973, in a Sioux City hospital after a short illness. The former Lettie G. Carr resided most of her life in Anthon and the last 25 years in Sioux City.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Epiphany Catholic Church.
She was preceded by her husband John in October 1956; a son, Joseph Clelland, and daughters, Violet and Frances Jane.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Cothrin and Cecelia Arlene Stenberg, both of Sacramento, California, four brothers, John of Correctionville, Joe of Anthon, Albert of Concord, California, and Cecil of San Jose, California, grandchildren Lonnie, Mark, Kevin, Noreen, Renita Stenberg and Gary Cothrin, all of Sacramento, California, and Mrs. Jean Erickson of Erie, Pennsylvania.
The body was taken to the Larkin Funeral Home in Sioux City.
Services were held at the Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City with Rev. Robert Waters officiating on Monday, May 21, 1973, at 10 a.m. Burial was at St. Joseph's Cemetery at Anthon.
