Maurice S. Coyne, 84, Indian Hills Care Center, died Tuesday, April 13, 1993, at the nursing home after an extended illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Lawrence Burns, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church officiating. A graveside service will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Anthon, Iowa, with Zensen of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Anthon, officiating. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today, at the funeral home, with a Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary recited by 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Epiphany Council 743. The Rev. Richard Sitzmann, chaplain of Marian Health Center will officiate.

Mr. Coyne was born Oct. 7, 1908, in Oto, Iowa, the son of Sylvester and Catherine (O'Connell) Coyne. He married Rita R. Carr June 17, 1944, in Anthon. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1952. She died July 5, 1982.

Mr. Coyne was a member of 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Epiphany Council 743. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Bev and her husband, Vernon Reves of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Jan and her husband, Jeff Burke of Sioux City; a brother, Tom and his wife, Emma Coyne of Manson, Iowa; and four grandchildren, Todd and Kelly Reves and Ryan and Michelle Burke.
