Cyril Joseph Carr, 69, 2627 South Rustin St., died Tuesday, July 24, 1984, in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 27, in the Church of the Nativity with Rev. Robert W. Gralapp officiating.

Casketbearers were Jim, Jerry, Jack, Joe and Jay Carr and Leo Cole. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Anthon, under direction of Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Carr was born March 21, 1915, in Anthon, the son of John and Genevieve (Madden) Carr. He married Dorothy Sevening January 11, 1938, at Anthon where they operated a café for several years. They then moved to Sioux City where he was employed at Swift & Company for eleven years. They owned and operated a resort at Park Rapids, Minnesota, for several years, returning to Sioux City in 1975.

He was a member of the Church of the Nativity.

Survivors include his wife, five sons, Jim of Yuma, Arizona; Jerry of San Jose, California; Jack and Joe both of El Paso, Texas; and Jay of Manteca, California; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Judy) Lourens of Sioux City and Mrs. Paul (Jennifer) Hensel of Crooks, South Dakota; a brother, Leonard of Pompano Beach, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Hoppe of Correctionville and Mrs. Corrine Johnston of Storm Lake, Iowa; 20 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents and four sisters, Cleo, Rita, Loretta and Betty.
