Mrs. Maurice (Jean) Callaghan, 60, 3115 Jones St., died Wednesday at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Monsignor Richard V. Sweeney will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery at Anthon, Iowa. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mrs. Callaghan, the former Jean K. Sokolowski, was born June 4, 1921, at Danbury, Iowa.

She married Mr. Callaghan Dec. 28, 1942, in Danbury. They moved to Sioux City from Moville, Iowa, in 1965. She worked as a housekeeper for Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church the last 16 years.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Sioux City Eagles Auxiliary, Aerie 77.

A memorial has been established in her name for Briar Cliff College.

Survivors include the widower; four sons, Dennis of Salisbury, Maryland, Patrick of Sioux City, Tom of Colorado Springs, Colo, and Mark of Iowa City, Iowa; one brother, Jimmy of Danbury; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Lee of Waterloo, Iowa, Mrs. Josephine Johnson and Mrs. Helen Nolan, both of Seattle, Wash, and Mrs. Dorothy Smitly of Wenatchee, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
