Funeral services were held Monday, October 30, 1972, at St. Edwards Catholic Church at Waterloo for Mrs. Joseph (Delores) Barnas, who was killed Friday, October 27, in an automobile accident.

Delores was born February 7, 1918, at Anthon to Jim Bernard and Josephine Umhoefer Bernard. She attended Anthon schools and graduated from Briar Cliff college; had done graduate work at Iowa University and University of Pueblo, Mexico, and received her Master's Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. She taught Spanish and was the high school librarian at Dunkenton, Iowa.

She married Joseph Barnas June 19, 1943, in Denver, Colorado.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Jim of Bend, Oregon; and Joe of Ames, Iowa; one daughter, Julie of Iowa City; four sisters, Leone Bernard of Anthon, Mrs. John (Lucille) Didien of Bridgeport, Nebraska; Mrs. David (Mildred) Macken of Rochester, Minnesota; and Miss Joan Bernard of St. Paul, Minnesota; and two brothers, Frank and Wilfred of Anthon, and one uncle, Clarence Umhoefer of Anthon.

She was preceded by her parents, and an infant sister, Mary Jeanette.
