RODNEY, Iowa-- Mary C. Banta, 86, of Casa De Paz Nursing Home in Sioux City, died Wednesday, July 17, 1991, at the nursing home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon with the Rev. Gerald Zensen officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will be afternoon today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Willman Funeral Home in Rodney.

Mrs. Banta, the daughter of John and Nellie (Slice) Schuh, was born March 26, 1905. She married Clyde Banta in 1926. The couple made their home in Anthon and Rodney until his death April 5, 1972, in Battle Creek. She had been a resident of Sioux City the last 16 months.

Mrs. Banta was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, John W. and Arlene Banta and Clyde and Phylis Banta, all of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Frank and Frances Schuh of Anthon; a sister, Eilene Heath of Glendale, Ariz.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sons, Carl and Leonard.
