1 February 1946Vern V. Johns, 57, 1123 12th street, died Thursday night in a hospital after a long illness.
He was born February 17, 1888, at Mapleton, la. For 20 years he was a streetcar motorman in Sioux City.
Survivors are the widow, Emma; two daughters, Mrs. Roy Beckner and Mrs. Donald Erickson, both of Sioux City; a son, L. R. Casey of Garvey, Cal.; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Rice of Kirkland, Wash., and Mrs. Hattie Shaner of Emerson, Neb.; a brother, Riley Johns of Columbia, Mo., and eight grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Anderson funeral home.
