Michael Duane, the son of David Duane Meredith and Windy Jo Pierce (Stockdall), was born Aug. 8, 1996, in Sioux City. Michael grew up in Sioux City and he attended Sioux City Elementary Schools and graduated from West High School in 2015. While in high school, he enjoyed playing football and hanging out with his brother Josh and his friends. Following high school, he started working at McDonald's in North Sioux City; then in 2017 he started as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office where he formed endless friendships. While working at the post office, Michael met the love of his life Brooklyn Paulsen. He welcomed her daughter, Presleigh, into his life with open arms as his stepdaughter, and Michael and Brooklyn became proud parents once again when their daughter, Emberleigh, was born on July 18, 2022.

Michael enjoyed many things including: video games, music, woodworking, mini bikes, cooking, board games, watching football and UFC, and especially enjoyed swimming. One of his favorite holidays was the 4th of July, and he loved setting off fireworks. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and was a very giving and caring person. He was his dad's mini me, loved his mama's cooking, and formed a very close relationship with Brooklyn's brother, Brandon, in a short time. He could make anyone laugh with his outgoing personality while also offering a shoulder for people to lean on.

Michael is survived by the love of his life, Brooklyn Faith Paulsen; daughter, Emberleigh; stepdaughter, Presleigh Streets; father, David (Jenifer Manker) Meredith; mother, Windy (Randy) Pierce; three siblings Brittany Meredith, Joshua (Sara) Meredith, and Ryder Meredith; stepsister, Amanda Pierce; stepbrother, Randall (Gabrielle) Pierce; grandparents Mary Kay (Odell) Nelson, Ronald (Kathy) Meredith, and Terri McNear; great-grandmother, Diane Hood; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tom Stockdall; great-grandparents; and uncle and aunt, Dennis Mansker and Rebecca Nelson.
