Oliver Harrison Utterback, 72, Whiting, la., died Sunday in a hospital here.

Born at Whiting October 25, 1871, he is survived by the widow; two daughters, Mrs. L. E. Castle of Hollywood, Ill., and Lois J. Utterback of Little Rock, Ark; two sons, R. W. Utterback of Whiting, and Capt. D. E. Utterback of Washington.

A lifetime resident of Monona County, Mr. Utterback was an extensive farmer and a leader in the development of numerous projects to Monona County, including the drainage and reclamation of the West Fork River bottom, the rural electrification program and the consolidated school at Whiting.

He was a member of the Whiting chapter of the Masonic lodge and the Sioux City consistery.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. today in the Congregational church at Whiting. Rev. George W. Dunn, Sioux City, will officiate. Burial will be in the Whiting cemetery.
