Sherry Lynn Beacom, 60, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Friday, September 30, 2022 at her home, due to a sudden medical condition.

A memorial graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Saint Johns Cemetery in Jackson, Nebraska with Father Andy Sohm, officiating. A Celebration of Life Service will be 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Sioux City, Iowa. A fellowship gathering will be held across the street from the Church at the Agape Community Garden following the Celebration of Life. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Sherry Lynn was born September 27, 1962 in Kearney, Nebraska, the daughter of Dale and Mary “Dorie” (Beacom) Bakke. She grew up in Hornick, Iowa and graduated from Westwood High School with the class of 1980. Sherry continued her education at Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City for Computer Technology.

She worked at Knoepfler in Sioux City for several years as an Auto Body Technician. Sherry was working at Pech Optical as a Frame Technician for eighteen years until she passed.

Sherry was an Avid Sports Fan and enjoyed watching the San Francisco 49ers, Sioux City Bandits, and Nebraska Cornhuskers. She enjoyed softball, bowling, darts, pool league, rodeos, and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Sherry loved spending time with her family and especially her dog “Xena”.

Survivors include her siblings, Barb (Dave) Esser of Canova, South Dakota, Kelly Jenkins of Sioux City, Iowa, Shawn (Michon) Bakke of Carroll, Iowa, Michelle Bakke of Sioux City, Iowa, Shane (Wendy) Bakke of Spirit Lake, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and her dog companion, “Xena”.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Mary (Beacom) Bakke; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Esther (Swan) Bakke; maternal grandparents, Leo and Fern (Marsh) Beacom; and a sister, Debbie Beacom.
