Funeral services for Iris B. Wright were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, 1977, at Leyson Funeral Home at Lake Park, Iowa with Rev. W. Michael Biklen and Rev. Harvey Walker officiating.

After a long illness, Iris passed away April 8, at the Lake Park Care Center in Lake Park at the age of 79.

Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery, Correctionville, Iowa.

Iris Beatrice Wright, eldest daughter of Samuel and Mabel Goodwin, was born October 1, 1897, near Correctionville. She attended school at Correctionville, graduating from high school there.

On September 17, 1919, she married Vinton A. Wright at the Pierson Methodist Church in Pierson, Iowa.

They farmed near Correctionville for, several years, moving to Lake Park in 1940. In Lake Park, they operated a variety store for 15 years. Mr. and Mrs. Wright celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1969 at the home of her brother, Gerald Goodwin of Correctionville.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, being baptized as a child. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Marvin (Ruth) Crom of Redwood City, California; one brother Gerald Goodwin of Correctionville, and by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
