He was born Sept. 7, 1934, in Moville, to Hilburn Steffe and Lucille Hane Steffe. He graduated from Moville High School in 1952 and joined the Iowa Air National Guard.

He was married to Joyce Karen Larsen in 1954. They farmed for several years before moving to Arnolds Park, Iowa, where David continued to farm and later worked for Berkeley Fisheries.

David loved to fish, watch KU sports and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up.

His parents and a granddaughter, Margie Ann Fox, in infancy, preceded him in death.

We are happy that our husband, father, and grandfather has gone on to meet the Lord and that he is free from his physical suffering. Psalms 23: He leadeth me by the still waters. He restoreth my soul. David's family thanks the caring staff at Rolling Hills Care Facility for their compassionate care while he lived there.
