WILLIAM SOUTHALL DEAD.

Died Thursday Evening of Last Week of Paralysis.

Wm Southall died Thursday evening about 8:30 of paralysis. He was apparently well at, 6 o'clock that evening when he left his place of business and went to his home. He was taken sick very suddenly while sitting at the supper table. Medical aid was summoned, and all done for him that was possible to relieve his sufferings, but the stroke was a severe one and he soon succumbed.

Wm Southall was born in Oswestry, England, September 12th, 1836, and died September llth, 1902. Would have been 66 years old tomorrow. He came to America at the age of nineteen and has been a resident of Iowa ever since with the exception of five years spent in California, making an overland trip to that place in 1861 in search of gold. He was united in marriage, February 6th, 1861 to Millie Snyder. To this union five children were born, all of whom are living and with the exception of Wm., who lives at Erwin, Iowa, were at his bedside at the time of death.

He came to this place in 1883 and has since been engaged in the grain and banking business. Besides his five children he leaves a brother in Davenport, Iowa, and two sisters in England to mourn his demise. He visited England twice since coming to this country.

Mr. Southall's death comes as shock to the entire community, coming as it did so sudden and unexpected. Deceased was kind and benevolent, doing many little deeds of charity, of a whole-souled disposition, and a friend to all. The bereaved ones have the sincere sympathy of the entire community — Pierson Enterprise.
