Mary V. Sieling was born March 13, 1903, in Woodbury County, Iowa, the daughter of James and Kate (Teghtmeyer) Guthridge and grew up in the Correctionville community.

For a number of years she operated the New Way Café in Pierson.

She was a member of the Christian Church and the Rebekah Lodge of Pierson.

Mary died at Weslaco, Texas, on January 31, 1980.

Funeral services were held from the Pierson Christian Church with Rev. Jeanne Groom officiating. Interment was in Good Hope Cemetery, rural Correctionville, under direction of Michaelson Funeral Home.

Survivors include sons, Donald, of Avon, South Dakota, Ronald of Omaha, Nebraska, Robert of Rochester, New York, and a daughter, Mrs. Betty Miller of St. Paul, Minnesota, a brother, John Guthridge of Peterson, Iowa, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Roger.
