Robert H Sieling 1932 - 2017

Robert H Sieling of Palm Coast, FL passed away November 8th, 2017. He was born in Huron, South Dakota, June 11, 1932 to Herman and Mary Sieling.

After his birth, the family moved to Pierson, Iowa where they owned and operated a restaurant for many years. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Ordinance Corp in Korea. Robert earned a Master of Art Degree in Mathematics and a minor in Physics at the University of South Dakota. Completing his Master’s Degree in 1963 he took a position with the Information Systems Department of Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY as manager of the department.

Robert was instrumental in designing, building and managing computer systems for Kodak’s complete business operation. Robert married Phyllis Westcott of Moville, IA in 1954. They just celebrated their 63rd anniversary on September 4th. They have two children, Pamela Patton of Taylorsville, UT and Deanna Sieling of Palm Coast, FL.

Robert is survived by a sister Betty Sybrandt of St. Paul, MN., granddaughter Sarah Shultz and her husband Nate, twin great granddaughters, Annabel and Isabel and great granddaughter Emberlyn of Denver, CO., and grandson, Nathan Arnold of Silverthorne, CO. as well as many nieces and nephews.

Robert was an avid golfer winning many tournaments belonging to all the courses in Palm Coast. Many knew Bob as ” Bogey Bob”. Bob and Phyllis traveled throughout the U.S and played over 300 courses and visited every state in the U.S. They played golf in Alaska, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. Traveling via motorhomes was his passion and enjoyed visiting all the Canadian Providences bordering the U.S.

Bob will be buried in the family plot in Pierson, Iowa. [Good Hope Cemetery.]
