Mildred K. Seehusen, 82, of Early, formerly of Pierson, Iowa, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pierson United Methodist Church in Pierson, with the Rev. Bill Cotten officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, rural Correctionville, Iowa. Visitation begins 2 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.

Mildred was born Dec. 29, 1922, at Pierson, the daughter of Albert and Gladys (Baker) Riordan. She graduated from Pierson High School. She married Wilbur "Bill" Seehusen on Oct. 24, 1942, at Spokane, Wash. After their marriage, Bill and Mildred lived in Spokane before moving to Compton, Calif. After living there for several years, they moved to Long Beach, Calif., until retiring.

In 1990, they moved back to Pierson, where they had resided until 1996, when they moved to Early.

Bill passed away Oct. 18, 1997, after which Mildred continued to live in Early. She worked as a cook for Spectra Health Care.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Nehring and her husband, Jay, granddaughter, Liberty of Early, Iowa, and Elizabeth Poloway of Anaheim, Calif., three granddaughters, Khristyl Imhof, Danielle and Michelle Poloway.

Also surviving are two brothers, Donald Riordan and his wife, Beverly of Pierson and Bruce Riordan and his wife, Pearl of Correctionville; a sister, Letha Johnson of Sioux City; and a sister-in-law, Effie Riordan of Pierson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; a grandson, Dominick Mandicino; a great-grandson, Tyler Bradley; and a brother, Dale Riordan.
