Funeral services for Charles H. Scott, 70, who passed away in the University Hospital at Iowa City Friday, June 23, 1950, were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Osborne's Funeral Home in Pierson with burial in Good Hope Cemetery, Rev. Hutchinson officiating.

Charles Henry Scott was born near Odebolt, Iowa, October 30, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Scott. He moved to Pierson in 1887. He was married to Mamie Wells in Pierson on December 18, 1907. To this union were born eight children, seven of whom survive.

The Scott family moved to Correctionville April 20, 1916. He barbered in Correctionville and the surrounding territory for nearly 50 years. In early life he joined the Methodist church at Pierson and later the U.E. Church at Correctionville.

Survivors include his widow of Correctionville, three sons, Clifford of Washington, DC, Clarence of Anoka, Minnesota, and Hubert of Glendale, California, four daughters, Mrs. Laurene Babbit of Norfolk, Nebraska, Mrs. Opal Siefke of Correctionville, Mrs. Gertrude Egley of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Mrs. Maye Small of Washta, two sisters, Mrs. Cora Messerole of Clark, South Dakota, and Mrs. Libbie Hatfield of Sioux City, one brother, W.H. Scott of Cherokee and eleven grandchildren.

Three sisters, Stella, Belle and Mrs. Nina Lancaster, preceded him in death.
