Services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, September 11, 2022 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Freedom Lee Jansen (Massey) of Sioux City died Wednesday September 7, 2022, at a local hospital following a battle with a long-term illness.

Freedom was born on November 24, 1974, in Sioux City Iowa and attended West High School class of 93. She lived some of her teen years between Denver Colorado and Atlanta Georgia before returning home and having children of her own. Freedom spent several years as a stay-at-home mother prior to becoming employed as a manager at Culvers where she worked for many years.

Freedom lived her life to its fullest everyday through simple pleasures. She loved scrap booking, cook outs and socializing with her many friends, Freedom had an admiration for motorcycles and riding her Harley every chance, she got. Most importantly Freedom had the greatest love for spending time with her son Cody.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Duane Johnson, daughter, Mickey Lynn Ehlers, and brother, Jesse Marshal.

Freedom is survived by her son, Cody Jansen, mother, Vicki Massey, grandchildren, Landon, Logan, and Lilly Bellis, grandma, Tootie (Lola), special aunts, Jodi and Kim Johnson, and close friend, Misty Ehlers.
