Word reached Correctionville the latter part of last week of the sudden death of Frederick Sanford at his home near Ponca, Nebraska. Death came after an illness of but a few days caused by pneumonia.

Saturday the remains were brought to Correctionville by A.F. Wilson and held at their undertaking rooms until the funeral Sunday, they having charge of the arrangements. Mr. Sanford had many friends in this vicinity where he spent many years of his earlier days.

Frederick William Sanford, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Sanford, was born at Correctionville, Iowa, November 1, 1897, and died Wednesday, April 21, 1926, at the age of 28 years, 5 months and 20 days.

Those surviving are his wife, Hazel, a year old daughter, Betty Lorraine, and his father and mother. There are also three sisters, Mrs. John Leaders, Sioux City, Mrs. William Urban, Sheldon, Iowa, and Miss Cornelia Sanford of Sioux City.

He was baptized in the year 1913 in the Presbyterian faith at Sanborn, Iowa, which was his residence for about twelve years prior to his removal to Nebraska.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Correctionville last Sunday afternoon with Rev. Hulse in charge. Interment was made in the Good Hope Cemetery.
