Craig A. Ruring, 40, of rural Cleghorn died suddenly Thursday, June 24, 1993, at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital, Cherokee, Iowa, due to a heart condition.

Services were held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Quimby, with Pastor David Renfro officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery, north of Correctionville, Iowa, under direction of Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee.

Mr. Ruring was born July 25, 1952, in Schaller, the son of Jesse and Marion (Sexton) Ruring. He graduated from Willow High School in 1970 and attended Western Iowa Tech Community College for one year. He married Sharon Lorenzen March 10, 1972, in Quimby. He lived in Sioux City for several years where he worked for the Sioux City Foundry. He had lived on a farm in Rock Township, Cherokee Co., since 1976 and was presently working for Simonsen Industries in Quimby, where he had been employed for several years.

He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Quimby, where he had served as a Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher, and the congregational secretary.

Survivors include his wife, daughter Sheila and son Jason Ruring, both at home, his mother, Mrs. Marion Ruring of Cherokee and a brother, Richard Ruring of Washta.

He was preceded in death by his father.
