PIERSON, Iowa - Gladys Ermina Riordan, 97, of Pierson died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1993, at her residence.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Pierson United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Battern officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, rural Correctionville. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Earnest-Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Mrs. Riordan, the former Gladys Ermina Baker, was born May 17, 1896, in rural Pierson, the daughter of Arthur J. and Kate (Landon) Baker. She graduated from Pierson High School in 1913 and spent her entire life in the Pierson area. She attended Morningside College for two years and taught in rural schools. On Sept. 6, 1916, she married Albert H. Riordan at Pierson. The couple farmed many years east of Pierson. He died Oct. 22, 1947.

Mrs. Riordan was a member of the Pierson United Methodist Church and Esther Circle of the UMW. She was a member of the Good Hope Club.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Dale and Effie and Donald and Beverly, all of Pierson and Bruce and Pearl of Correctionville; two daughters, Mildred and her husband, Wilbur Seehusen of Pierson and Letha Johnson of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Claude Baker: and two great-grandchildren.
